What is the difference between a digital Magazine photo booth and a Magazine box? The main difference between these two options is that the physical magazine box is usually rented on it’s own. Meaning, the box is set up at your event and then guests photograph themselves with their phones. Versus a Magazine Photo Booth which captures the photos for you via a photo booth or photographer and then applies a magazine cover to your printed or digital photos.

Quality
The physical magazine box does not include professional studio lighting which means quality of photos are not optimized. In addition, the front acrylic panel of the boxes will cause glare in any photo taken, especially without the proper lighting. With our photo booths, lighting is controlled and perfected to ensure consistent beautiful photos every single time. Adding our magazine photo booth design on top of the photos will never take away from the quality.
Options
Since our designs are digital, there are no limits to what we can create. Any title, concept or theme that you have in mind, we can make happen! Photo Booths also offer guests the option to have their photos in color or black & white plus a skin softening filter for the picture perfect photo.
Price & Time
Our custom magazine design options are available for practically the same rates of our standard photo booths. This means the cost is almost half or more of renting a physical magazine box. In addition, customizing a magazine box can take up to 4 weeks versus our digital magazine photo booth where we can have your design ready within 72hrs or less.

FAQs
What is the main difference between a magazine photo booth and magazine design with the pop-up studio/ portrait lounge?
A photo booth will take photos in a stationary position. All photos will have relatively the same angle & crop. Versus a pop-up studio or portrait lounge, where a photographer takes portraits of guests. This gives the photographer a lot more flexibility to zoom in/out and frame photos differently. In addition, our pop-up studio will provide guests with multiple photos during each session, similarly to a mini photo shoot.
What other designs do you have?
Magazine covers are great but there are many other design possibilities! Like our newspaper design or postcard designs. Anything you can think of, we can most likely recreate. Just let us know your ideas and we’ll be happy to customize a design for you!

What backdrops are included?
In order for your magazine cover design to stand out, there are a few backdrop options we would recommend depending on your design. In general, a plain white or plain black backdrop works the best.
What sharing options are included?
Instant sharing is available via personal galleries with our pop-up studio, email or sms with our digital booths or QR code with our printing booths. All options include an online gallery within 48hrs with all the images taken for clients to view & download.
Can I add my name/logo/brand on the photos?
Yes! Your magazine cover can include any text, logos or phrases you’d like to include. If you have a magazine inspo, simply let us know the magazine name and we’ll create a custom design for you.
How much space is required?
We ask that you provide a minimum of 8-10ft square of space.
Can I have this service outdoors?
Yes! However, due to weather issues we highly recommend a space that is covered or have an immediate plan B in place. Please let us know what your setup will be prior to the event for recommendations and appropriate preparations.
What are other requirements to be aware of?
Our Portrait Lounge requires a standard electrical outlet within 10-15ft. However, our Event Portrait Photography is fully wireless.
